FAQ

Warranty
Laptops purchased after Christmas are guaranteed for a month from receipt of the laptop. Laptops found to be faulty within this time can be returned to be repaired (if possible) or for a refund minus shipping costs. We will not refund laptops which have been damaged after sale.

Accessories
WIFI cards supplied unless stated otherwise will be used ones. It keeps the cost down for you. If you would particulary like a new one let us know. Bags purchased as an optional extra are used unless stated otherwise.

Availability and Product Photos

Batteries
Laptop batteries are consumables (they wear out over time) and as such we do not guarantee the life of the batteries sold with our laptops unless we have had time to test them thouroughly. If we know that a battery is dead it will be stated in the description. If you particularly need a laptop with a good battery or require a replacement battery please contact us and we wil do our best to help. Remember even a laptop with a battery which no longer holds charge will work fine plugged into the mains.

Testing
All laptops are run for many hours before despatch to test whether the battery charges and holds any charge and to observe for any sign of overheating or screen corruption when the laptop heats up. Other tests include ensuring the optical drive, audio (internal and external headphones), PCMCIA all work. Hard drives are put through a full format and tested for excess noise (sure sign of a hard drive on its way out) hard drives which display any signs of failure are replaced. Screens are tested for stability (reliable picture, no flickering when in use and when lid is moved), hinge tightness and surface damage. Power input jacks are tested for any signs of being or becoming loose, we NEVER sell laptops with loose power jacks as these will only get worse with use.

What extras come with my laptop?
If a laptop comes to us with a manual, restore discs etc, then it is sold with those items. Otherwise manuals or restore discs are not supplied. Manuals can be downloaded from most manufacturers websites and we are happy to assist you with locating these.

Software?
Operating systems are always installed. All laptops comes with AVG Free Anti-virus installed and updated plus anti-spyware software to help protect your purchase. Whether your laptop has a DVD. DVDRW, CDRW or DVD/CDRW all software required to make it function will be in place for your immediate use.

Will my laptop be packed securely?
YES - our laptops are never sent in a jiffy bag, but are individually bubble wrapped and further protected in corrugated card boxes prior to despatch. Please note: We recycle packaging so please excuse us if the box looks like it has been used before but we are trying to do our bit for the environment and we only re-use boxes which are in good condition.

Delivery Costs
£14.99 for up to 3 laptops, £19.99 for up to 5, £24.99 for up to 7, despatched the day following payment Monday to Thursday (Items purchased on Friday, Saturday or Sunday) will be despatched on the following Monday, unless it's a public holiday). FREE delivery is available to customers within the DD8 postcode, please select this option at checkout if you want to use this service.

All deliveries are insured for the full value of the laptop.
